Add, change and arrange effects

Put an effect in a slot, swap it for another, change the order, turn it on or off and remove it.

Add an effect

  1. In the mixer, tap Edit on the channel strip and open the Audio tab.
  2. In the Effects section, tap + Effect on an empty slot (the slot reads Empty). On Tablet and Desktop you can also tap the empty slot right on the strip.
  3. In the list, pick a category on the left (All, Space, Modulation, Dynamics, EQ & Filter) or type in Search.
  4. Tap the effect. It goes into the slot at once, already playing, and its page opens.
The effect list opened from an empty slot: the categories with their counts on the left, the search at the top and the effect cards.
The effect list, opened from an empty slot

The list reopens on the last category you used. On the buses and the Master it shows only EQ, Compressor and Limiter.

Change the effect

On the effect's page, tap Change: the list opens on top. Tapping a different effect replaces the one in the slot, and the new one starts at its factory values. Tapping the effect that is already there changes nothing: its settings stay. Back returns to the page without changing anything.

Turn it on and off

  • In the drawer, the square to the left of the name: lit in the channel's colour means on.
  • On the mixer strip (Tablet and Desktop), the LED at the right end of the slot.
  • On the page, the effect's own button: On on most, Delay on the Delay, Stereo on the Stereo Modeller, ON on the RedSky, BYPASS/ON on the RK-2A, IN on the Bus, the METER's OFF on the RK-76.

When off, the effect stops processing. On the reverbs, the Delay, the Chorus and the Auto-Pan, the tail that was ringing dies away in its own time, with no cut.

Change the order

  • In the drawer, drag the handle on the left of the effect's row to another slot. The ↑ and ↓ keys move it too.
  • On Tablet and Desktop, drag the effect up or down right on the strip; a mark shows where it will land. This works on channels, buses and the Master.

The effect takes its Dry/Wet, its on/off and its MIDI mappings with it. The MIDI slot always stays on top.

Remove an effect

  1. In the drawer, tap the bin at the end of the effect's row: it lights red for 3 seconds.
  2. Tap the bin again to empty the slot.
