Use REDKEYS in your DAW (VST3)
REDKEYS is also an instrument plugin: activate it in the app and play it on a track in your DAW.
Besides the app, REDKEYS comes as a VST3 instrument plugin. In your DAW it plays on an instrument track, with that track’s MIDI, and opens with the same screens as the app.
First: activate in the app
- Open the REDKEYS app (not the DAW), activate it with your e-mail and serial and wait for the Factory to download.
- In the DAW, create an instrument track and pick REDKEYS from the list of VST3 plugins.
- Play it through the track’s MIDI.
What changes in the plugin
- Activation and downloads stay in the app. The plugin uses the activation made there, on the same computer.
- The sound goes out through the DAW: the audio interface, sample rate and buffer are the DAW’s. ASIO is chosen in the DAW.
- MIDI comes from the DAW track, not from the devices chosen in the app.
- The plugin is an instrument only: it does not open other plugins and does not download libraries.
On stage, the app is the main way to play: there you choose the audio interface and your MIDI devices.
